Join the conversation on the Marine Beacon Digital Platform

Jun 5, 2026 | News

Marine Beacon is inviting stakeholders to explore and contribute to a growing set of open conversations on bycatch mitigation through the Marine Beacon Digital Platform.

The platform is designed as an interactive space for dialogue on the accidental capture of protected, endangered and threatened marine species. Each discussion focuses on a specific issue, such as risks to particular species, public awareness of bycatch, mitigation tools, success stories, or emerging work from Marine Beacon and related initiatives.

Visitors can browse current topics, read short summaries and linked materials, and contribute through surveys, open questions or discussion sections. The aim is to bring together research, evidence and stakeholder perspectives, helping to identify what is known, where uncertainties remain, and what further action may be needed.

Input is welcome from fishers, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, industry representatives, communicators, retailers, citizens and others with an interest in reducing bycatch and supporting more sustainable fisheries.

By contributing to these discussions, visitors can help inform future Marine Beacon activities, including research priorities, workshops, awareness-raising work and practical approaches to bycatch mitigation.

Explore the open conversations on our Digital Platform tab, or go straight to the platform itself and share your perspective.
